When we
talk about Qatar University , we can
recognize that there are many things we must fix on the university in many different
ways. When I was addmitted to Qatar University , I expected many good things to
find it on this national university, but unfortunattly, we mostly disappointed.
First of all, most of the students found the
same problems since they joined the university. Most of these problems are
connected with the courses, the buildings and the teachers unfortunately. One
of these problems is enrolling course. We could not find any open sections when
we want to add courses and that happened because the university accepted thousands
of students without a good plan to cover what the new students need, and that
for sure will affect those already here. This issue continuously happens in
each new course.
Another issue faced us and me specially, is
the buildings. Most lectures we had were in the main women’s building and this
building exactly needs to be rebuiltt immediately. They did not make any improvement for it since 1973. Also it’s
too far than the other buildings even when they connected each of them with
buses. Also there are no facilities or good entertainment areas to help the students
to spend their free time doing what they want such as swimming pools, areas to have rest for girls
who have long breaks, good gym for them and so on.
The last thing is the shortage of teacher.
The teachers are not enough to cover the huge numbers of students on campus in so many collags. Because of that the university
cannot open any extras sections for students and that problem affects us in bad
way especially in our graduation.
Qatar University needs to improve a lot to make
students love to their University
and helping them belong and be proud of their national university. That will happen when the university administration,
professors and students help each other
to carry out the
development of the it to be
better to help Qatar University to be a magnificent ones around the world. Also
we deserve to be our university like the rest of the
universities in the world and in Qatar, particularly the
collegs in the Education City who have the facilities outweigh what
Qatar University has to be fair for us.
